This website, what is it about, I hear you wondering.
Well, it's quite simple. As an engineer, I have many hobbies and activities related to my passion, of which one is webcontent.
The goal of this website is to gather all my little hobby projects in one place, while at the same time having a little outlet to write down some thoughts.
The latter will be the 'ramblings' section, where I will attempt to share thoughts and philosophies that might, or might not, have something to do with engineering. Since engineering is not all I do - it is a large part of my waking life - every now and then other parts might trickle through. We'll just have to wait and see how this section pans out. But I do feel my ramblings should be the entry point to this website.
Then we also have the 'projects'-section, where I will be sharing some of my hobby projects.
The idea is to have some sort of a database, which will in time probably become searchable and categorized.
The main page will contain an overview of my projects, maybe all, maybe the latest X, I'm not sure yet. But when clicking through to the project, I want a page which allows me to tell something about the project, perhaps share some code snippets, probably a little screenshots gallery, and of course, if applicable, a download link or something.
Furthermore, I have always enjoyed engaging with others via my websites (yes, this is not the first). So I might, in the future, add some sort of 'community'-section. Or at the very least, a way to contact me.
Since this website itself is one of my hobby projects, we'll just have to wait and see how it evolves. For now it is no more than some design of an idea, since I still have to get started on the CMS. But once the CMS starts evolving, I can only imagine the website evolving with it.

Hello, and welcome. So you came to check out who I am?
My name is Luuk Ambrosius. I was born in november 1986 and I've been dabbling in programming since 1995, I think. Mind you, when I was that age, I started on Delphi 5, which is an Object Oriented language, but I did not really have a clue about 'OO' yet.
I did write my first little programs at this time, such as a calculator and a little invisble maze game, but my first actual larger projects didn't start until we got internet when I was 12.
My first real projects were online games, created in PHP and SQL. Some of these got quite popular, like 'Hack the Planet' and 'Mafioso'.
It was only natural for me to want to go study Computer Sciences after I finished High School, but the way it was taught, was not for me (too much marketing and business). So instead I enrolled into Social Pedagogics, which was very interesting indeed and taught me much about myself (I found out I have Autism because of a schoolproject). I ended up working in the field a while, and burned out. This field required too much flexibility of me. So instead, I went into therapy to learn more about myself. This was an important step to realizing my passion was engineering. So I got my Bachelor of Science in Embedded Electrical Engineering. Lots of this is software engineering, but a large part was also PCB design and VHDL, which I truely enjoyed. But the main thing I started realizing I loved, was creating, prototyping and problem solving.
So naturally, I ended up as a R&D software engineer and have been working as one since. I truely love my career, it's the dream we all have: earning money by doing what you truely love.
So, apart from being an engineer, I am also a husband and father. We live in the Netherlands, just outside a major city. I love spending time with my wife and kid! Seeing the kid develop is marvelous!
I also enjoy games, both on the PC as well as on the table. And when I used to have time, I also enjoyed reading, running, swimming, cycling, traveling, hiking up mountains, going to concerts and lots more. There was a time when I tended bar as a volunteer, which I still think back fondly of.
I can keep on rambling, which is sort of my thing, but I will save that for the main page for now.
Thanks for reading, have a great day, and I hope at least something on this websites enriches your life.
